The Innoshima Suigun Festival is a festival that recreates the Murakami Suigun, a group of people who could be described as a local naval force or sea guard on Innoshima Island. The Murakami Suigun was active in the Warring States period between the 14th and 16th centuries.
The festival was awarded the grand prize in the “3rd Furusato Event Grand Prize” in 1999.
The Innoshima Suigun Festival is comprised of three parts: The Island Festival, the Fire Festival and the Sea Festival.
